ASSESSING EFFICIENCY OF HIGHER EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS AND QUALITY OF STUDENT EDUCATION

Annotation

The article considers weaknesses of the indicators used for assessment of higher education institutions efficiency in the system of national higher education. In order to make them more objective, the author suggests a number of indicators of internal and external assessment of efficiency: quality of the faculty; material and technical resources; educational and methodical support; research activity; quality of teaching students; quality of education of university graduates; assessment of graduates by employers. Justification of this set of indicators is presented in the paper. The article offers a system of mark and rating assessment of certain educational programs and higher educational institution in general. The author suggests assessing the quality of gained knowledge taking into account qualification of the teachers who conduct classes as the quality of university graduates’ skills directly depends on them.
