Annotation

The article is devoted to the issues of teaching personal safety. The authors prove that continuity of teaching safety to children of 6-10 years old is ensured by following the principles of accessibility, increasing complexity and continuity of gaining knowledge. One and the same phenomenon has a different value for preschool and elementary school children. Taking into account age differences ensures better results in the process of preparation for school. Along with teaching the basics of mathematics, reading and writing, general education is of great importance, as children gain experience of safe behaviour in various socio-cultural situations.
