ADULTS’ IDEAS ON LIFE PURPOSE AS MECHANISM FOR DEVELOPING TOLERANCE IN POLY-ETHNIC ENVIRONMENT

Annotation

The article raises the problem of life purpose awareness. Possible ways to treat life meaning are offered. The author dwells on some features of developing personal consciousness under conditions of living in poly-ethnic environment. Data concerning ethnic self-determination of inhabitants of the Russian Federation are cited. The author focuses on interpretation of life meaning in various philosophical theories and from the point of view of psychological science representatives. Distinctions in understanding life meaning by representatives of various nations and religions are provided in the article. The level of tolerance of inhabitants of the Russian Federation is revealed. The author offers some hypotheses for further studies into the problem.
