PERSONALITY TIME ORIENTATION AS THE FACTOR OF COPING-BEHAVIOR DEVELOPMENT

Annotation

The article reveals approaches to studying coping-behavior and time orientation of personality. The author offers theoretical model of interconnection between time orientation of personality, interpretation of a stressful situation and coping-behavior. The article outlines a circle of situations studied in the scope of the concept “coping behavior”. The article also deals with subjective criteria of stressful situation definition and extended number of phenomena which are studied as elements of coping behavior. The author comes to the conclusion that it is necessary to study in more detail the vague line drawn between protective mechanisms and coping-strategy, to consider the issue of relevance of researches into protective mechanisms as elements of coping with a problem situation.
