Annotation

Today the institution of social teachers both in city and rural society of Russia has won the right of citizenship. The given institution is developing gradually but non-uniformly both in different regions of the country and in municipal structures. In many respects, its development does not depend much on financial and economic support of the region, but rather on the position of heads of regional and social protection services, their understanding of importance and role of socially-pedagogical activity for children and their families. What is more important, regional leader in the field of social pedagogy, capable to develop this institution in science, education and practice makes difference. The article is devoted to theoretical background of developing institution of social teachers in Russia. On the basis of researches, the author analyzes results of its professional status in modern Russia, reveals contradictions, tendencies and some prospects of institution of social teachers e
