PEDAGOGICAL CULTURE OF A TEACHER VERSUS PEDAGOGICAL CULTURE OF THE TEACHER VERSUS EFFECTIVE CONTRACT

Annotation

Growing consumerism and pragmatic attitude to the world around could not but cause changes in values and priorities in professional sphere. These trends inevitably make impact on the meaning of pedagogical activity. Russian educators have to get used to being evaluated in a new way. According to the theory of pedagogical culture, worked out by the academician E.V. Bondarevskaya and her followers, teacher’s activity used to be evaluated in terms of its meaning and moral aspects. However, recent years have seen the new systems of evaluation and organization of work relations introduced into the work of tertiary institutions, “effective contract” being one of the examples. This contract focuses on work results of teaching staff based on factual criteria. The article covers advantages and disadvantages of both approaches to evaluation of educators’ activity.
