PHILOSOPHICAL VIEW ON EDUCATION IN THE 17th AND 21st CENTURIES: ANALOGIES AND PARALLELS

Annotation

The article makes comparative analysis of philosophical and pedagogical views of the 17th century with philosophical and pedagogical views of the 21st century. The authors draw the following analogies and parallels between the 17th and 21st centuries: in the 17th century the image of the person of an industrial civilization was created while in the 21st century it is an image of the person of informational civilization. The paper emphasizes the difference between these two concepts. The 17th century is considered to be the epoch of formation of an image of the person of the reasoning mind. The 21st century is seen as formation of an image of the person of the feeling mind. These two concepts – rational and sensual – give rise to understanding of the heart matter of innovative technologies, the new didactic principles, means, methods and forms of education. The article gives general characteristics to teaching technologies and education methods relevant for the 21st century.
