PHENOMENON OF A KATA IN THE SYSTEM OF FAR-EASTERN MILITARY PEDAGOGY

Annotation

According to the article, expediency of application of kata as the means of training adherents of martial arts for real fight is widely raised. In the system of Far-Eastern military pedagogy kata has always had an important place. It is explained by the fact that kata is an effective tool of training that develops an extensive complex of qualities and abilities necessary for a fighter. Kata represents regular exercises done by an athlete that include the combination of protective and attacking methods performed at a certain sequence and according to the established trajectories, imitating real fight. Besides, kata is the deep cultural phenomenon. According to the author, the role of kata as the means to promote intra school hierarchy, as the system of preserving technical background of the school, as the means of physical culture and sports and a competitive discipline is insufficiently defined.
