Annotation

The article draws readers’ attention to psychological, pedagogical and didactic features of the process of developing scientific concepts in geography course at school, taking into account specific features of the subject, problems, content and research methods of geographical science. The author’s understanding of the phenomenon “scientific concept” is provided in the paper. The author also dwells on the role of comparative approach in formation of the conceptual framework. The paper also covers the main idea and value of regional geographic approach in formation of scientific outlook at geography lessons at school. Relevance of integration of regional geographic and local history approaches when forming the system of geographical concepts at school is proved in the article.
