NEW APPROACH TO INFORMATION CULTURE THROUGH THE PRISM OF GLOBAL CHARACTER OF MODERN SOCIAL ENVIRONMENT

Annotation

The article touches upon the importance of researches into information culture in the context of modern social realia. The author of the paper analyses the relevance of studies which deal with information culture through the prism of the environmental information component of the current social environment and emphasizes the significant role of information throughout the history of social evolution. The article provides diverse examples of different approaches to understanding of knowledge and information in different historical periods. The author pays particular attention to the modern ambivalent approach to knowledge in terms of its practical importance for social practices of individuals. The author of the article addresses the problem of the current information culture in general and singles out its specific aspects which are conditioned by the unique features of social environment, its fleeting nature that lays the foundation for new social values and adaptation types of individu
