POLITICAL INTERVIEW AS A SPECIAL GENRE OF POLITICAL DISCOURSE

Annotation

The article dwells on a political interview as a special genre of political discourse. The author emphasizes that political interviews are the most frequent events from all types of political discourse. The paper reveals semantics of the word “interview” and provides its definition. The author analyzes classifications of interviews including their types and genres. In this connection, the author draws the conclusion that classifications of interviews presented in research literature often duplicate each other. Further on, the author gives the description of each of interview genres. Special place in the paper is given to inter-disciplinary nature of studies into political discourse which is explained by the fact that there is a relatively new direction in linguistics called “political linguistics”.
