Annotation

The article is devoted to the development of the notion «education of adults». The absence in the Russian legislature of the corresponding law on the education of adults gave impulse to the investigation of the education of adults as a scientific and pedagogical category, both in Russia and abroad, and its role and place in the system of lifelong education.
