Universities of the third generation and their priority tasks in renderring social functions

Annotation

According to the paper, globalization has had a considerable impact on educational system aimed at modernization and innovative modeling. Modern universities of the third generation are supposed to solve the tasks of innovative modeling in the present educational system which is undergoing fundamental transformation nowadays. The author covers some tasks of universities of the third generation and emphasizes the need for realization of their primary social functions. The factors of emergence of a new university type formulated by the Dutch professor J.G. Vissema are analyzed. As a result of the analysis, the author comes to the conclusion that any factor of a new university, such as technological or innovative, doesn’t consider the task of inheriting traditional culture which should be based on the idea of new kind of education of a student, full realization of one’s forces and opportunities, revealing inner intellectual and creative potential.
