SOME OPPORTUNITIES OF THE USE OF INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGIES AT GEOGRAPHY LESSONS

Annotation

The research deals with the use of means of information and communication technologies by pupils. The author covers the main advantages of the use of ICT at geography lessons. Different experts express opposite attitude to the use of computers at lessons. Some researchers emphasize the need of using ICT means in an education system; others prefer traditional forms of teaching at lessons. However, hardly anybody is ready to avoid using computers completely. According to the paper, it is very important to consider its expediency in the course of studies. Modern pupils have lower motivation for educational activity. Pupils lose interest to studies owing to overload of school curriculum. The need for a nonconventional organization of academic process emerge. This approach will provide better learning outcomes when pupils are active, work excitedly at a lesson. The use of ICT at geography lessons creates a comfortable pupils’ zone, making educational process more attractive and efficient.
