EDUCATIONAL STRATEGY OF THE DON SCHOOL LEAVERS: EXPERIENCE OF A SOCIOLOGICAL RESEARCH

Annotation

The paper claims that higher educational institutions should keep track of the dynamics of educational strategy of future students in order to increase efficiency of attracting potential students and timely response to ongoing changes. It is especially relevant in the regions where educational space is saturated by a wide range of organizations of higher education having different educational and research traditions and legal statuses. The article shares results of a sociological research into educational strategy of high school leavers of Rostov region in their choice of higher educational institutions and majors. Based on the questionnaire data, the authors analyze positioning of higher education in long-term life plans of seniors of the region, motives that drive the choice of a major and a higher educational institution, behavior strategy at the stages of exam preparation and collecting information about higher educational institutions in the area.
