SOCIAL AND EDUCATIONAL ACTIVITIES IN MASS AND PROFESSIONAL SPORT

Annotation

The article deals with tasks and content of social and educational activity in mass and professional sports and sports of higher achievement. The author emphasizes the impact of these varieties of sports on social-educational activities, standards of conduct, moral beliefs, personal qualities and habits that people are guided by. The sphere of social and educational activity in sports is wide enough and covers a number of directions, each of which has certain specific features depending on the sphere of sports activity (professional sports, mass sports, sports of higher achievements). As for other directions, they also include harmonious development of athlete’s personality, moral instruction based on humanistic ideals, mass social and cultural work, rehabilitation and health-saving activities, psychological and pedagogical support of sports activities.
