Annotation

The article is devoted to the influence yoga practices on consciousness of a person. Most importantly, the paper dwells on physical and psychological influence of yoga on a body. For several last decades it has been discovered that our brain undergoes certain changes depending on what we are engaged in and how often we are engaged in it. This phenomenon known as neuroplasticity takes place since birth and till the old age as long as mind is stimulated with any challenging and unusual tasks. The theories arising and numerous researches show that yoga practice can influence neural networks, changing cognitive, emotional and behavioral experience, even changing the functioning of autonomic nervous system under stress. Researches demonstrate that yoga influences the neurophysiological and neurocognitive mechanisms connected with self-regulation, mental health and stress control. Moreover, regular yoga practice can slow down aging effects and increase resistance to life problems and stress
