PECULIARITIES OF ETHNIC TOLERANCE OF NORTH-CAUCASUS AND WEST-SIBERIAN STUDENTS

Annotation

The article gives the definitions of such concepts as ‘tolerance’ and ‘ethnic tolerance’. The author analyses the results of the research into the distinctive features of ethnic tolerance among the students of North-Caucasus and Western Siberian Universities. According to the results West-Siberian students have the lower level of ethnic tolerance than their counterparts from the North Caucasus, and they distance themselves from the representatives of mountain peoples. The revealed features of ethnic tolerance help us to make a conclusion about the necessity of purposeful and systematic development of ethnic tolerance among West-Siberian students.
