Annotation

The article presents historical and biographical facts of the life and activities of the German teacher Hermann Giesecke that influenced the development of the pedagogical concept formed in the middle of the last century. The article also presents his concept of political education which laid the foundation for the new stage in the theory of education in Germany. The article deals with one of the current trends of the German theory of education, namely the pedagogy of conflict analysing conflicts from the point of view of their positive and negative influence on the educational process.
