Annotation

Linguistic abilities as a particular type of special abilities and their role in foreign language training are discussed in the article. The authors have analyzed various Russian and foreign scholars’ approaches to linguistic abilities studied as a part of human general intellectual abilities. The article also deals with some problems concerning foreign language teaching process and its efficiency in non-linguistic institutes of higher education.
