HUMANITARIAN TRAINING IN ENGINEERING EDUCATION AS A FACTOR OF PROFESSIONAL AND SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT OF A PERSON

Annotation

The article analyses the priorities of the Russian educational policy explained by the necessity of the development of professional staff of engineers competitive on global and domestic labour markets. Humanitarian training of future engineers is considered one of the basic factors of new technical education quality achievement. The potential of humanities is investigated in the context of developing socially and personally significant characteristics of a specialist. Some results of empirical research revealing the role of humanities in engineering education are shown in the article.
