THE EDUCATIONAL POTENTIAL OF COSSACK CULTURE

Annotation

The article deals with the educational potential of the Cossack culture containing the Cossack idea, expressing the original variant of the maternal orthodox Russian idea; the educational ideal – a perfect learner-centered (personalized) image, regarded as manifestation of the Cossack idea; socially significant values of the Cossack culture – the sense of the Cossack life. In the process of the cultural genesis the Cossack culture maintained crucial social trends of the Russian society’s democratic development: the idea of freedom and people’s power, the paradigm of Russianness, conscious service to the society and the state. Hence, the educational value of the Cossack culture for the modern Russian society cannot be overestimated.
