SHORT TEXTS AS MEANS OF DEVELOPING ORTHOGRAPHIC ACCURACY AND SPEAKING SKILLS OF 5-7TH GRADE PUPILS

Annotation

The article presents methodology of development of learners’ speaking skills and orthographic accuracy in the Russian language class. The author suggests using small form tasks to develop learners’ general language competence. Small form tasks do not only encourage orthographic accuracy by means of developing learners’ speaking skills, they also enhance learners’ creativity. The article provides a number of examples of learning activities and exercises ranging from meaningful drills and controlled exercises to guided ones.
