Annotation

The article is devoted to the one of the most topical problems of modern pedagogy – development of creative abilities of children of younger school age by means of art pedagogics. Having analysed pedagogical and psychological literature and her own experience of teaching in various educational environments the author has come to the conclusion that creative self-expression through art turns out to be an adequate way of achieving the primary goals of modern pedagogics aimed at developing well-balanced harmonious personality striving for self-development and self-education, and the initiation of universal creative abilities of a child is the main independent purpose and tool of the further personal development in specific cultural conditions.
