ANDRAGOGICAL APPROACH AS A BASIC METHODOLOGICAL CATEGORY OF THE THEORY OF ADULT EDUCATION

Annotation

The aim of the article is substantiation of the andragogical approach in pedagogy as a methodological basis of the adult education theory, while the main objectives are to determine the status of andragogy; to cast light on the essence of the andragogical approach considering the whole complex of values, goals, notions, principles and methods in the context of the humanistic paradigm of adult education. The correspondence between the andragogical approach the person-centred educational paradigm of a cultural type is ascertained. The author focuses on the notions of the androgogical approach, formulates its principles and looks into its methods, which allows him to make the conclusion that the theory of the andragogical approach is the basis for the formation of andragogy as an integral theory of the pedagogical practice of adults.
