EDUCATION OF ADULTS IN THE DON ARMY REGION IN THE SECOND HALF OF THE XIXTH – BEGINNING OF THE XXTH CENTURY

Annotation

The main purpose of the investigation is to present the regional peculiarities of adult educational and cultural institutions in the Don Army Region in the second half of the XIXth and beginning of the XXth centuries and to show their uniqueness explained by ethnical, administrative and managerial, cultural and historical characteristics of the region. The author reveals determining factors influencing the system of adult educational establishments development in the Don Region, most important of which is a dynamically developing economy of the region. Archival materials allowed the author to understand the role of the territorial institutions in the development of education in the Don region.
