“ASSOCIATION OF POPULAR EDUCATION PROMOTION IN THE DON ARMY AREA” AS A FACTOR OF ADULT EDUCATION DEVELOPMENT IN XIX – XX CENTURIES

Annotation

The main purpose of investigation based on archival documents is to restore the educational activities of the “Association of Popular Education Promotion in the Don Army Area”, reveal its system development factor in the formation of the regional pattern of adult education at the end of the XIXth beginning of the XXth centuries. The materials presented in the article have never been given consideration before, which allows us to bridge the gap in the history of education development in the Don Region. A lot of attention is given to the activities of “special” commissions. The article also lists some statistical data concerning the development of educational and cultural establishments for adults in the Don Region.
