Annotation

The article looks into modern technologies which, when implemented, allow virtual university to be regarded as the basic organizational structure of electronic education. The author presents a number of criteria of technological conformity of virtual university with the problems of electronic educational process. The following information technologies are considered to form the basis of the organization of virtual university: NET-concept, distribution system technology, Internet-Intranet, client-server technology, CASE-technology, and technologies of multimedia and hypertext as components of hypermedia technology.
