Annotation

The article is devoted to the professional training of specialists working with young people in the system of higher education. The author analyses the main categories of the competence approach in education, gives the definition of the term “professional competence of a specialist working with young people” and differentiates general professional, professional, and special competences, which ensure effective performance of a specialist working with young people in the conditions of modern and dynamic Russian society.
