SPIRITUAL PERSONALITY DEVELOPMENT IN WORKS OF VASILIY THE GREAT

Annotation

The article is devoted to such urgent problem of modern generation as its spiritual education which is carried out, in the author’s opinion, as a result of interaction between school, family, church and state. Spiritual and moral development of the personality is determined by orthodox educational ideals, purposes and problems, system of key values, spiritual and social conditions of a society. The understanding of spiritual heritage of prelate Vasily the Great as some kind of uniform «book of hermitage», containing «seeds of the virtue doctrine» is formulated by the author. The orthodox educational ideal which, according to Vasily the Great, is reached by gradual increase in virtues is described and presents restoration of God’s Image in each person.
