TRAINING MEDIA COMPETENT EXPERTS (CADETS) OF MILITARY INSTITUTES BY MEANS OF A FOREIGN LANGUAGE

Annotation

The article deals with theoretical issues of media-education which represent necessary factors of the Russian education system modernization. Owing to media-education it is possible to develop so-called media-literacy (media-competence) of future graduates of military higher education institutes. The important factor in media-competence development is fostering in cadets of military high schools critical attitudes to media-texts at the process of foreign languages learning. By means of including certain topics in the foreign language curriculum it is possible to develop foreign language media-competence as well as communicative and poly-cultural skills of a graduate. Using military sites of foreign countries, cadets should consider them with some kind of reasonable criticism. And it can be achieved only if they acquire media-competences.
