Annotation

The article deals with the problem of continuous education which has become a current trend in the development of Russian education in the late 20th century. The author describes principal grounds for consideration, conceptualization and practical approach to some problems related to the sphere of continuous education, adult education being embodied as the key one. The author analyses different conceptual approaches to the essential features of continuous education that have ultimately determined major perspectives of research in Russian pedagogical science in the late 20th century.
