PSYCHOLOGICAL RESEARCH OF MENTALLY-DEFECTED PUPILS IN CONNECTION WITH THEIR CAREER GUIDANCE GOALS

Annotation

Professional self-development of mentally-defected senior pupils is hampered by poor life experience, lack of knowledge, comprehension difficulties, poor general ideas and imagination, immaturity of feelings and interests, inadequate self-esteem. Research of mentally-defected pupils in connection with their career guidance provides optimization of social adaptation process and job placement in future. During this step a lot of issues were studied and described in the article. Among them are research of internal documentation, value system analysis, peculiarities of school motivation and appraisal, level of aspiration, personality focus, individual psychological features, emotional volition, professional preferences, and professional intentions. According to the data obtained, a relative psychological portrait of a graduate’s personality of Kovrov board school, type ¹ 8, was described. The author also defines the main directions of career guidance activities.
