TEACHER’S SELF-REALIZATION IN NATIONAL AND CULTURAL CONTEXT: HONOR, DUTY AND AUTHORITY
Annotation
This article analyses the relation of teacher’s self-realization and national culture which the author began in her previous publication (Teacher’s Self realization and Equity: National-Cultural Context). Honor, duty and teacher’s authority/credibility are identified as characteristics of such phenomenon as selfrealization. Professional honor in pedagogy means not only teacher’s awareness of his or her vital role but also social acceptance, social recognition and respect for the moral qualities. Pedagogical duty is closely linked to authority: careless explanation of new material, unfair assessment of students’ knowledge, a habit to be late for lessons, failing to keep promises can undermine teacher’s credibility in students’ eyes.Key words
