Annotation

The article explores the problem of designing a methodological teaching system of probability theory and mathematical statistics (stochastics) for university students. Didactic principles of organizing professionally oriented education for the discipline are detailed by the author, who also gives their scientific rationale. The article states criteria for selection of the course content of probability theory and mathematical statistics and outlines basic principles of the concept of professionally oriented education.
