Theoretical aspects of studying of language personality of a child

Annotation

The article deals with the concept «language personality» and its components: personality and language. The author makes reference to the model of language personality structure offered by Y.N. Karaulov and projects it to a pre-school child. The author dwells on some aspects of children’s linguistic development. The important constituent of language personality is aptitude for languages. It is developed in close interaction with cognitive structures. The author stresses interrelation of speech and intellectual aspects of mastering the native language during the preschool period. Playing certain social roles in communicative space of the language environment is considered by the author as an important issue for personality development. Thus, language personality development of a child occurs on all three levels: verbally-semantic, cognitive and pragmatic.
