TO THE ISSUE OF STUDYING THE HISTORY OF PRIVATE EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS IN RUSSIA IN XVIII – BEGINNING OF XX CENTURIES

Annotation

The article is intended for experts in the field of history of education and pedagogical thought. The purpose of research is to find out a role of private educational institutions in Russia during the pre-revolutionary period on the basis of the analysis of modern scientific works on history of private education and memoirs heritage. As a result of the research, the author draws the following conclusion: private educational institutions of Russia played an important role in the system of domestic education up to 1917, but in order to give thorough analysis of the topic further research is needed.
