Annotation
The article considers methodological and theoretical approaches to describing Russian education as a socio-cultural phenomenon. The basic tendencies of education development in the context of socio-cultural innovations are revealed. The authors describe strategic purposes of management in education. The article raises acute problems of designing Russian education and parameters of its quality. The authors provide analysis of special features of school development under conditions of innovative changes.Key words
