HISTORICAL AND NATIONAL ASPECTS THAT INFLUENCED DEVELOPMENT OF MODERN ART CULTURE OF CHINA PRIOR TO THE BEGINNING OF XX CENTURY

Annotation

The article deals with traditions of the national fine arts which influenced development of modern art culture in China. According to the author, special role in national Chinese painting development belongs to calligraphy and poetry. The article also mentions great role of creative work of Giuseppe Castiglione in providing dialogue of cultures between China and Europe. This Italian master belonged to the court of the Chinese emperor. He managed to create pictures combining Chinese and European features. Giuseppe Castiglione also taught Chinese artists techniques of oil painting that considerably enriched art culture of China.
