PHENOMENON OF PUBLIC CONSCIOUSNESS FORMS: HISTORICAL CONTEXT (UP TO XX CENTURY)

Annotation

he article provides analysis of such definitions, as “consciousness” and “pub­lic consciousness” which are derived from various researches of great thinkers of XIX century. The author considers the concepts of consciousness described in works by I. Kant, G. Hegel, N.O. Lossky, P. Florensky, A. Schopenhauer, I.A. Ilyin, K. Marx, F. Engels, etc. According to the article, Marxist philosophy treats the category of consciousness as a spiritual superstructure, reflection of material real­ity, ideology. Contribution of Marx and Engels to the research of the category of public consciousness is stated.
