Annotation

The article provides theoretical analysis of the researches connected with media education of students. Definition of the concept “media competence of students” as integrated characteristic feature of a future worker of cinema and TV, including ideas about information, information society is formulated. The article also covers value notional attitude to media texts; professional media skills; experience of the analysis, estimation of media products and media creativity. Value of dialogue of cultures in students’ media competence development is emphasized. The article proves that experience of Britain in media education can become the basis for preparing highly skilled young specialists.
