Annotation

The article underscores the relevance of developing an innovative approach to education in view of integration of the Russian education into the global educational environment and the Bologna Process. Under these conditions the author considers it necessary to attach the status of Innovative Institution of Further Professional Education to Institute for Teacher Training and Retraining of the Sakha Republic (Yakutia). This is based on multilateral activities of the Institute aiming at applying the information and communication technologies to the educational system of the republic, creating and developing information and communication competence of Yakutian teachers, developing and implementing innovative projects, etc.
