POLITICAL ORIENTATIONS AND SOCIAL WELL-BEING OF THE POPULATION (SOCIOLOGICAL RESEARCHES OF UST-KAMENOGORSK CITIZENS, KAZAKHSTAN)

Annotation

The article contains some results of sociological research of Ust-Kamenogorsk citizens (Eastern Kazakhstan Region) conducted in July 2013 as part of public contract of Domestic Policy Department of Ust-Kamenogorsk on one of topical problems of social development - political orientations and social well-being of Ust-Kamenogorsk people. Public opinion poll deals with financial status, condition of migratory, interethnic and inter-confession relations, involvement of young people into civil self-management as well as patriotism level of townsmen. According to the results of sociological research, the first ten socially significant problems include: ecology, prices growth, alcoholism and drug addiction, availability and quality of health service, poor health, poor condition of streets and roads, unemployment and higher education availability.
