MAIN DIRECTIONS AND STAGES OF HISTORIOGRAPHY OF THE PROBLEM OF EDUCATION DEVELOPMENT IN THE TERRITORY OF BELARUS IN THE SECOND HALF OF XIX – BEGINNING OF XX CENTURIES

Annotation

The article is devoted to the results of historiographic analysis of the problem of education development in the territory of Belarus. The authors have revealed three basic stages in the development of the given problem: pre-soviet, characterized by two approaches - governmental, official, referred to as “West-Russicism”, and national, aimed at development of national educational system; soviet-oriented, based on Marxist methodology. The latter, however, in the 1960s tended to reassess pre-revolutionary historical-pedagogical experience from positions of gnoseological approach. The second is post-soviet period which is characterized by the complex approach in reconsideration of pre-soviet and soviet pedagogy, focused on national ideals and values, tendency to conduct pedagogical researches into the future.
