Annotation

The article focuses on psychological and pedagogical conditions of personal and professional growth of a teacher. The need for high competence is considered as the necessary condition for personal and professional growth of a teacher. It is treated as a set of professional knowledge, skills and as a personal quality. According to the authors, the need for high competence becomes one of the determinants of becoming a real professional. Innovative activity of a teacher is considered as a personal vector of professional development. The authors emphasize the urgent need for psychological readiness of future teachers for innovative activity.
