DEVELOPMENT OF ECOLOGICAL COMPETENCE OF STUDENTS WHILE STUDYING THE SUBJECT “BASICS OF ECOLOGICAL CULTURE”

Annotation

The article is intended for teachers of the subject “Basics of Ecological Culture”, “General Ecology” and for anybody who is interested in increase of the level of students’ ecological culture. Definitions of the concepts “ecology”, “ecological culture” are considered in the article. The author emphasizes importance and gives outline of the content of the subject “Basics of Ecological Culture” introduced at pedagogical faculties of Southern Federal University. The author gives brief description of three modules and mentions that there is almost complete lack of reference literature on the given subject. The article deals with teaching methods in the scope of the given disciplines which allow giving students factual knowledge and impart basics of ecological culture. The author argues whether it is possible to evaluate students’ competence in this subject by means of tests. The article also sets forth the idea of including “ecological” aspect in other disciplines.
