THE PROBLEM OF METHODS AND MEANS OF TEACHING BASICS OF BUSINESS COMMUNICATION IN A FOREIGN LANGUAGE TO FUTURE ECONOMISTS

Annotation

The article deals with the problem of teaching methods and techniques in the context of professionally focused foreign language teaching to students of economic specialties. The author focuses on the terms “teaching method”, “teaching technique” and “teaching means”. The author specifies differences in understanding of the concept “approach” in foreign and national science. The latter includes in this concept not only how to teach (method), but also why to teach (goals) and what to teach (content). The author defines teaching methods as concrete ways determined by the general approach and implemented by certain teaching means - general method(s), specific actions, instructions, activities used by the teacher. A number of practical means aimed at development of business communication in a foreign language, in particular, “discussions”, “humming”, “chain”, “pyramids”, “business games”, “brain storms” are described.
