PSYCHOLOGICAL PROFESSIONAL SELECTION: EXPEDIENCY AND EFFICIENCY

Annotation

The article proves that staff selection requires professional organization and implementation of certain procedures for the right psychological inspection and hiring applicants. Professional selection is defined in the article as the system of specialized procedures aimed at studying and assessing professional suitability of a person for some profession or a group of professions. The author describes psychological selection used for identification and assessment of individual characteristics of a person (one’s inclinations, abilities, value implications, professional orientations, motivation, interests, preferences, etc.). It is shown that test methods of psycho-diagnostics should be actively used in professional selection practice. The author explains that a specialist in professional hiring has to possess not only “a set” of specialized test techniques, but also be able to use them in the right way.
