FEATURES OF CHANGES IN WOMEN’S IDENTITY AND VALUES IN POSTNATAL PERIOD

Annotation

The article describes key changes of personality features and values of women in postnatal period. The heart matter of transformations in identity of a woman connected with child’s birth is revealed. The author provides new definition and described the key points of motherhood. The author compares features of outlook on life, value implications and self-attitude of the women who gave birth to healthy children and the ones who have children with pathologies. The article deals with distinctive features of coping mechanisms in the two groups of women which determine their coping behavior during postnatal adaptation. The author provides grounds for the need to use the following diagnostic tools: test by D.A. Leontyev, “value orientations” test by M. Rokich, coping mechanisms by E. Heim, questionnaire of self-attitude by V.V. Stolin and S.R. Pantileyev, techniques for studying self-attitude.
