VALUE IMPLICATIONS AND LIFE MEANINGS AS THE MAIN PSYCHOLOGICAL GROWTHS OF SENIOR SCHOOLCHILDREN

Annotation

The article describes the main approaches to studying senior schoolchildren generated in theoretical and empirical works of national and foreign psychologists. It is shown that national psychologists especially focus on problems of development, qualitative changes of personality, including needs and motivational sphere, features of intellectual development, communicative and interpersonal skills. The authors mention that psychologists have revealed the following changes: strengthening of personal, dynamic aspect of self-perception; development of the complete attitude to oneself; display of increasing differentiation in relation to activity results, expansion of own “self” boundaries. The article states that at senior school age motives cease to be linear, they get structured into hierarchical system and become the basis for the realized vital purposes and intentions.
